How do I create an Alert from the dashboard?

Create dashboard ad alerts (automated reports) for breaking or running ads with ad spend insight.

An ad alert is an automated email report that provides visibility of competitive advertising activity across your current subscription.  You can create an ad alert from the Dashboard.

What is the frequency of these alerts?  
You can customize your report to be delivered: 

  • Daily 

  • Weekly 

  • Monthly 

Note, dashboard alerts kick-off at 9:00 a.m. ET daily. The timing is different from Legacy Search ad alerts. 

What are the available report formats?

  • Excel - XLS 

  • PowerPoint - PPT

  • Zip File 


Steps to create an ad alert

You can only create an ad alert from any saved search.  


Once your search is saved:

Select the Bell icon, then complete the Alert frequency


In the Schedule an Export... pop-up box, select the Ad Alert cadence:

  • Daily (Mon - Fri)

  • Daily (Every Day)

  • Weekly (select day of week, Sun - Sat)

  • Monthly (select the day of each month you would like to receive the ad alert)

If you selected Daily as your frequency, your ad alert will be delivered starting the next day.

Select the format of your ad alert, then select Confirm

The default is an Ad List - XLS excel format.

Click this field to select the format of your scheduled Ad Alert.

Format Options:

  • Ad List - XLS

  • 10 Creatives / Slide

  • 2 Creatives / Slide (2 x1)

  • 1 Creative / 1 Slide

  • Occurrance Report - XLS

  • 4 Creatives / Slide

  • 2 Creatives / Slide Slide (1 x2)

  • Creative Assets

Ad List - XLS is an Excel spreadsheet. The other formats are image-based reports.

Double-check the thumbnail image to verify the format of your ad alert.

Select Confirm when complete.

You have now successfully created your Ad Alert (scheduled export)

When you setup an alert using Last 7 Days, the first ad alert you will receive will contain all creatives matching the criteria in the last 7 days.

You will then receive subsequent daily ad alerts which include only new breaking creatives that match your saved search criteria moving forward.


View Ads in the Platform Directly from the Alert

Selecting a hyperlink in the alert Summary Grid will take you directly into your saved search and pre-populate the chosen advertiser, media type or combination from the email.

Your saved search based on your alert email will pre-populate and the ads in your alert will be available in the dashboard.


Pro Tips:

  • When creating new ad alerts in the platform, set the date range as 'last 7 days' to ensure all recent creatives are captured.

  • When you set up an alert using 'last 7 days,' the first ad alert you will receive will contain all creatives matching the criteria in the last 7 days and then you will receive subsequent daily ad alerts that include only new breaking creatives that match your saved search criteria moving forward.

  • Users who receive forwarded ad alerts will not be able to use the hyperlinks to access the platform, they are user-specific hyperlinks. If a user does not receive their own ad alerts, we suggest they set up their own ad alert or reach out to Support for assistance via Live Chat or customersupport@mediaradar.com.

  • There is a creative thumbnail limit of 100 thumbnails for ad alerts, meaning if your alert contains more than 100 ads, only 100 thumbnails will show. The summary table at the top of the Ad Alert has NO LIMIT - if you have more than 100 ads in your ad alert they will all be listed in the summary table.
