In Magnifer, you can filter your search by Message Elements including price point, celebrity spokesperson, co-op partnerships, retail promotions, and more.ย

Use Message Elements to help answer key business questions, including:

  • How can I understand what celebrities were featured in Superbowl campaigns for my competitor(s) to support their brand?

  • Did my competitor(s) re-run any of their commercials?

How it Works:

Select your Creative Dashboard.

1. In the Search Bar, you can search by Keyword.

The Keyword Search looks in every field specified in the creatives for the words or phrases you enter.

The Keyword Search will recognize and search phrases in the order in which you enter them.

Each individual keyword or phrase will need to be separated using a comma.

The follow special characters are currently supported:

  • - (hyphen)

  • _(underscore)

  • ' (apostrophe)

  • & (ampersand)

  • / (forward slash)

  • : (colon)

  • $ (dollar sign),

  • % (percent sign)

  • ? (question mark)

  • ! (exclamation point)

  • # (hashtag)

  • . (period)

No other special characters are supported.

2. Adjust the Ad Status.

The dashboard will show Running Ads by default.

Running Ads includes new ads and any ads Magnifer has seen in the past, whether it

started running weeks or months ago, as long as they were active during the selected date range.

You can also choose to show Breaking Ads, which provides results for brand new ads Magnifier saw for the first time.

3. Select your Date Range.

Choose any of the pre-selected date ranges on the left, or choose a custom date range using the calendar options.

4. Select the Refine Search option and choose Message Elements.

Click on Add Filters at the bottom.

The Message Elements filter will emerge into the dashboard view.

Click on the drop-down menu and scroll through the list to select the Message Element you need.

You can also type the Message Element into the search field to quickly upload.

Pro Tip: Select the horizontal ellipsis menu to Exclude, Reset Filter, see more Info, or

Remove Filter.

Some message elements are available for all ads. These include:

  • Direct Response

  • Comparative Ad

  • Price Point

  • Environmentally Friendly

Most Message Elements are done on a custom basis for a specific client or category.

Once you make your selections, click Search.

View Your Results in the Dashboard

Using the Creatives (Running or Breaking) by Advertiser and Media Type

chart, you can easily see the total number of ads by media type that ran in the market during the time frame included in your search.

Hover over an advertiser field to see a breakout of creatives for that advertiser by media type.

Use the Ad List at the bottom to view more ad details.

Click on the drop-down menu located to the right of the ad table to see ad details in three different views:

  • Table View (excel-like view)

  • Thumbnail View (image of creative)

  • Details View (Image and creative meta data)

Within the Table View, you can add more details to your ad list.

Select the Field Options button located towards the bottom-right to add additional

meta data to your Ad List.

Add Message Elements and Description.

You can drag & drop the fields in whatever order you need to see them in.

Click Apply.

Click the checkboxes to the left of any creatives you would like to export from the Magnifer solution.

Click the Export option located towards the bottom-right to export your creatives in Excel or PowerPoint.
